Restore Your Oral Health
Gaps left by missing teeth can make it more difficult to chew and speak clearly. These empty spaces can even cause neighbouring teeth to become loose and shift out of place.
Further issues may also develop as the bone around the gap begins to lose density, possibly leading to changes in the contour of the jawline and overall facial appearance. Over time, these changes can leave patients feeling frustrated and self-conscious about their smile.
For many adults with missing teeth, dental implants can be an ideal solution. These small titanium screws are placed into the jaw where the natural tooth's root once sat, and provide a stable base for a natural-looking artificial tooth.
Dental implants offer a permanent solution to missing teeth that can help hold surrounding teeth in place and prevent bone deterioration, while providing patients with a smile that looks and feels natural.
What is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that is surgically placed into the jaw, under the gumline. The implant gradually bonds with the bone and gum tissue, providing a stable base upon which an artificial tooth or teeth can be attached.
Dental implants can be an effective option for restoring the function and appearance of your smile while helping improve your long-term oral health.
The Dental Implant Process
A specialist will begin by surgically placing the implant into your jaw bone below the gum tissue. As the tissue heals, the implant integrates with the bone.
Once the healing is complete, generally three to six months post-surgery, our dental team will book you an appointment to complete the process.
At this stage, your dentist will have a custom tooth replacement fabricated, such as a dental crown, bridge or denture, to create the look and function of a natural tooth. This will be attached to the dental implant to produce the final result.
